Palringo definately requires a data session. I browsed the
Palringo Thread and it definately drains your battery. The battery on this rom is tweaked pretty well I think. But if you have an active data session, palringo alot (which causes that massive bright screen to be also on alot), well... Your battery will drain quick. But check out the thread I linked above and someone might have your answer. I don't plan on IM'n from my phone much until I add that keyboard to my phone in May...
I picked up one of these last week and it's a fairly handy gadget for the diamond or any HTC phone.
