Re: [March 18th, 2009] "One Rom To Rule Them All..." MIGHTYROM 4.14 [20771]

Mike,

This is a report for a problem that I've been experiencing long time with MightyROM. I know this may not be a popular one as I might be the one of a few people using your ROM with Korean language support.

I use a Soft Input Panel application for Korean lanauge called Samsung Moakey 2. The problem is that it doesn't show Mode change skin properly after reboot. I tracked the issue for a while and finally I found that the problem happens with MightyROM, but not with Juicy ROM.

I investigated the problem and also found that it is because the skin file called "IDS_MODE" installed on Windows folder by Moakey 2 was in locked state after reboot. I couldn't delete the file or overwrite new one, but I could rename it to something else and rename it back to original file name. Then everything started working until I reboot the device.

I will try give whatever information/data you need if you can take a look at it.

For now I believe there might be a bug in Moakey 2 itself which might have surfaced by your ROM, but I would like to know what changes in your ROM could cause it surface the problem.

I am thinking that it might have related to some optimization you have done for file system or something related.

I know I am shooting at dark, but do you have any idea about why the file might have been locked by your ROM but not on Juicy's ROM?

BTW I tried binary-editing Moakey 2 application to load different file name and found the same problem which suggest that it isn't the case that the filename itself is the problem.
