Instead of the soft reset, use psShutXP. It allows for soft reset, turn off, turn off display, etc. The cab has touchpro in the name, but works fine on diamonds. I use this version because a previous one I tried did not actually turn the phone off (always soft reset it). Also attached the battery monitor (just run .exe on your phone). Not sure on Java.
