This will explain the radio: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616 I'm using rstoyguy's rom. I've tried Juicy's and Mike's too, but rstoyguy's has the best balance for me. It's based on the Sprint stock rom too. Have fun flashing.
