I feel for you loosing your job, with the state of our economy it's news that is sadly more often heard. If you have those skills, now would be a great time for you to become a technology consultant, I'm sure you have some connections that can become useful, unless you signed a no competitors contract with your former employer, even then I don't think that would have legal grounds ( I don't know because I'm not an attorney, I just watch a bunch of judge shows!)
