It may be fine with the battery. But no2chem mentioned it can possibly draw much more current from the USB port than it can sustain. I am using a laptop which has a poor USB power. I don't know whether it would damage my USB port. Just be cautious.

I usually charge the phone overnight, so don't really need fast charge.

I never use any smartphone before, everything is new to me. I'm learning many things here. Thanks to this forum!
