oh, I get the impression there are other programs other than "buildOS" but have yet to find any

are there or have things actually become somewhat viable to simply flash the SS 1.5 onto a verizon TP from a SD card

if so, what kind of landmines pop up if I only have SDHC cards and why can't I simply go to this, or any similar page, and snag such a rom without having to wonder which one is actually the one I need, much less being able to discern what it does or doesn't do?


it's not that I don't fully appreciate all the zealous efforts taking place

I do and did indeed pay tribute by refusing rest until I hopped up my Apache which still works GREAT and is much more stable than my TP

it's simply that many of the presentations and directions deviate from absolute scientific method and often makes assumptions that anyone reading understands any and all somewhat esoteric terms as well as less than concise/exact/EXPLICIT (not implicit)..... like, 'be sure to copy over that dll with this exe in some certain root'

last time I heard anyone talk anything like that was when I had some good shrooms and thought Jerry Reed was funny doing Smokey and the Bandit

now this isn't meant to be condemning of all the brilliant folks doing this stuff, the opposite is true, I accept that, by comparison, I am a caveman that would rather be designing and machining up products, molds, prototypes from phone cases, medical bits, aviation dammits, to pan or flathead gizmos

than trying to pour myself into making a decent tool out of this almost wonderful phone

anyhow, I am of the notion I am far from being in the minority and if geeking on these truly happened to be my bailiwick and i were located near enough rooftops

I'd open a business doing it instead of what I do
