You should keep in mind that even though the Touch Pro 2 will be out for GSM before its CDMA counterpart, the GSM frequencies may not be compatible with AT&T's 3G (HSDPA). You'd essentially have a really high-end phone, but it will be limited to EDGE.
Looking back, the first 3G Touch Pro for the US market was Sprint's (CDMA). Sure, you could've bought the European/Asian GSM version, but it kind of undermines the whole idea of having an internet-oriented device. With the Touch Pro 2, this holds even more true given its relatively gigantic screen. If you go with AT&T, you're basically crossing your fingers in hopes that they have the 3G version of the Touch Pro 2 before anyone else, which is not a good assumption given the first Touch Pro's history.
