The only tricky part is when you try to play with the kitchen by adding your own OEMs and stuf...and even then it's relatively straight-forward.
The part that first-timers usually forget is that there are 2 downloads. The Core Kitchen and then the OS that you wish to use...After completing the downloads, copy the SYS and ROM files from the OS folder into the CORE Kitchen and then just follow the process. My first time difficulty was figuring out what to do next after I finished putting checkmarks in the different boxes. After that, there's a "PLAY" button at the very top that you click on to start the rom building process. Watch the bottom "status" bar to see the process, When it says "done", click on the RED "X" at the top to close it. After that, everything will run automatically.

A word of caution....there is a limit of 128MB that the ROM size can be. If you get error messages, try un-clicking a few items to make the ROM size smaller. AS long as the ROM to be created is under 128 MB, it will work beautifully.
