I had this same issue. It seems to be a problem with it polling the GPS driver for the new Latitude feature. It would also crash my phone when I went to the "add friends" in the latitude menu.

I tried updating the radio on my Sprint TouchPro to 1.11F because I figured it to be an issue with the stock radio gps driver, but the crashing persisted.


However, it appears to have worked itself out. I had downloaded the Google Mobile App which I believe also contains the Google Maps program. I assume it installed over my old Google Maps (although technically the same version number), and I haven't had my phone crash since.

Based on my experiences, I expect the issue to be software based since changing the radio had no effect. I would advise downloading the Google Mobile App, since it cant really hurt anything.
