It's frustrating because with only minor changes, a longer stylus could have been designed into this device. If they need the space for their PCB, the stylus could have been made thinner.
I am considering making small magnetic mount brackets (plastic, magnet inside, covered with anti-slip rubber.) The brackets would be low-profile and only a very partial semi-circle with very blunt corners. I think the logical place to put the brackets would be above the power button and above the camera button.
The stylus would be solid plastic with matching magnets embedded on the inside. A length of around 100 mm is possible with the 6800.
The real downside here is that the stylus could interfere with the functionality of the buttons and/or keyboard. If the brackets were placed lower down, the stylus would at least partially obstruct the buttons. If the brackets were placed between the top and bottom halves, you would be forced to remove the stylus anytime you use the keyboard. It would be tricky and perhaps more prone to falling off if the stylus brackets were placed on the top half of the slider only.
Another possibility would be placing the stylus on the left side of the handset next on the top half of the slider.
