As for the fog, my dad actually took her and now she has an acre to run on and has made both my mom and dad very happy. And she is in heaven!
About six months ago we bought a ferret for our house. Two months ago we bought a second one. We used to have ferrets years ago and they are a blast. Just spent $250 on a badass cage for them and they run around our house quite often, too.
So all in all it was a win-win for everyone. The dog got a new home, has plenty area to run and play, and is with people that understand her special needs. And we got two ferrets (for now, we are already looking at a third one) and they are more our style of pets.
