At this point, I think I can safely state that the problem is fixed.
I have soft reset my phone all night now (& ran Sprite a couple times) & my touch continues to work/connect just fine.
This is awesome, I had pretty much given up on trying to get it working. I love using the touch for internet browsing when I have it with me. I hate to admit it, but the touch/safari with its big bright super responsive screen & awesome browser blows away the TP for normal inet browsing (plus it is visible out in the direct sun on the side of my daughters soccer fields).
Without WMwifirouter working, I never would have been able to use it in that way however.
