Insurance is great...if you have it. I purchased my phone used from ebay. If (by chance) your phone is older and / or you don't have insurance, I gotta think that the cost to ship the phone (insured with sig required, etc) and to have it worked on may justify the purchase of new (but used) unit from ebay. They are going for about $100 to $150.
