Re: Data Plan

The $45 plan does not include tethering. You pay another $15 on top of the $45 for tethering. Tethering is not an option on the $29.99 plan and cannot be added to it. Hiding tethering is done by using a proxy on the phone so that all the requests for internet access look like they came from a program on the phone and not from outside the phone. Some programs you can use to tether are PDAnet, and ICS (install Activesync 4.5 on the computer to get the USB driver needed to make ICS work). Normally you would use the Verizon application to do tethering and with the $29.99 plan you can't. ICS is not installed and you have to find it and install it. After you install it you can use the usb cable or bluetooth to connect the phone to the lapton and use it as a modem.

As for the $45 vs $29.99 plan and Exchange Server and Wireless Sync. I only know that Wireless Sync is NOT include in the $29.99 plan. This does not matter if you set your phone up to get mail directly from a internet mail server such as a POP server. Or use a web based email account such as Yahoo. I have never used an exchange server so I do not know about those and Verizon.
