How to add TouchScreen Controls to a Game?

I've got a version of Age of Empires III that I just purchased. I didn't realize that it doesn't have touchscreen support. I've got a HTC Touch Diamond and I have no button controls. Is there a way that I can recode the game to recognize TouchScreen controls? I realize that this will be a lot of work, but I think that the end result would be worth it. I don't even know which program I would need to use to edit the files in the .cab file.

Also, the game shows up really small when I start it up. Is there a way to change the native resolution to be more friendly with my phone? I'm pretty sure that it is just a matter of updating some code (or converting some images).

Anybody with some programming experience have any suggestions?
