This fell into the permutation I had tried above without success, but I still gave it another go, only to be greeted by 854mA in Battery Monitor.

I actually prefer the FastCharge enabled, so I'm not going to pursue it further, but I thought I'd just let you all know that this registry value doesn't seem to have the desired effect.

Thank you for that... I think I disabled it anyway because I installed the 1% decrements dll.
