Re: Is Sprint still giving out refur'ed MOGULs?
First off, the moguls are great phones but they lack the durability to go 2 years with someone that uses it everyday. My first mogul lasted 11 months and eventually had the keyboard issues with repeating letters. I have TEP, so I ran over to Sprint (in my building) and I left it with them to "test it"; they swapped it for me to a new refurb one by the end of the day. The second one only last 4 months before it started to freeze while charging and just randomly freezing up while reading web pages. Since then I switched jobs so I made the special trip to the store for them to check it out. They kept it for a day and then told me to pick it up and come back in 3 business days to get the replace for it. I went to pick it up and I had a refurb sitting with my name on it. Now this was 2 days ago (2/23). Since then, I've actually started using my phone, the keyboard does the damn intermittent repeating all over again, but its not consistent. Sigh... I went back to the store, and the sales lady told me to show her, I told her its intermittent, so she tried it and typed a bunch of random letters into notes, not even words... how could she tell if she was getting repeats or not with just the random letters? She told me if it starts doing it again, so bring it back immediate; reasonable if I didn't live 20 miles away from the closest service store. I wonder how one makes it worse so they actually believe me...
All in all, you would think they would want to keep their customers happy instead of annoying them away with crappy partly functional refurbs. Sure, a free TP would rock, a new mogul would be good, a refurb that works would be OK, but a refurb that has issues from the moment you power it on is just bullsh*t.
