yea, at the additional cost of interfaces, control units and software...
pretty much defeats the original question of controlling the tv/dvd and the like with the HTC Touch he currently has when you will be spending upwards into the hundreds+ to setup everything just to do the same a simple universal remote for 10 bucks can take care of for all the devices he asked about
Might as well suggested a X10 system or one of the others out there LOL
