yes... but if you have an appointmnet listed it will show up also all day events show up like holidays.. if you have them registered in your calendar..if you never use hte calendar at all you''ll not see anything.

Also for any of the changes to this.. including removing call history.. the pressed links are still there so you can press in the general area of "call history" to access the window.. same with calendar and missed calls etc.. all the edit does is remove the wording on the home screen.
