Re: control windows media player from TP-Remote

If you have your laptop with you that you want to control it will still work over wifi. Just setup an Ad-Hoc network (its a peer to peer wireless connection that does not use a router or access point to connect 2 or more wireless devices) Its easier to setup from the phone then connect to from the laptop.

Go to your wireless where you would normally connect to an acess point. Click add new. Type in what you want the network to be called. Check the box that says this is an ad-hoc network. click next set it up with a key if you want or leave it to open and none. Click next dismiss the part where it asks about the 802.11 certificate. Your done. Turn on your wifi on the phone connect to the ad hoc network by listing all in the dropdown (default is acess points only) Go over to your laptop and you will see your network ssid that you made click to connect (use your wep key if you setup with a key)

Thats it you will always be able to controll or use the g-remote or Saling Clicker you won't have to have an internet connection to do this. I have not tested but in theory if you use wmwifirouter to make the wifi connection to your laptop and are running wmwifirouter to use as tethering whenever you have it going to use internet on your laptop you are connected to the laptop over the same type of ad-hoc network so gremote and saling clicker should work during tethering sessions as well.
