Partner Requirements: The USB interface requires an INF file similar to the one that is used for Modem Link today. This INF file requires a unique ID to differentiate it from the ActiveSync USB connection. This application is an optional package.

now what about this is MS saying your carrier doesnt have the right not to make this unavailble to you??

where in any of the TOS' we've posted does it say anything other than your not suppose to be using a standard unlimited data plan to connect/tether this way? because their is a paid way, MIKE(TELUS) and PAM(SPRINT) to do so..

The .inf file that differentiates the modem link from an Active Sync connection over USB is just a driver file for a different function of the phone. The driver is included with the CD in the box. It's not a driver you only get when you subscribe to a PAM plan. The computer doesn't see the phone as a phone when it's in "modem mode" so that why the difference. It wasn't designed to require a different driver so that the carriers could require a special program or plan to tether.
