Ok, so after thinking about this, it's probably just a registry key that got screwed up somehow and go pointed back to the old setting of calendar.
If you have a registry editor, check out

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 2]

and see if the "Open" key is set to "\\Windows\\WM5NewMenu.exe". If not then try manually changing it and soft-reseting.
