Re: Wow! Multi-Touch Resistive Screen Demoed at MWC

Maybe I should rephrase the title, as multi-touch is nice, but again it's not the main draw here. Replicating a capacitive screen's ease of use (sensitivity/finger-friendliness) with a much cheaper resistive screen is what is really news worthy.

Also, lots of electronics (including the Pro/Diamond/HD) include a capacitive, multi-touch capable panel somewhere on the device. Programming the firmware to do anything with that capability is still fairly rare though. And while there are several multi-touch technologies out there (IR grids, capacitive screens, etc), this is the first time I've personally seen some one do it with a resistive screen.

I've attached the HTC debug tools if anyone would like to have a play with them. I believe the one that shows off the input panels is something along the lines of "nav debug tool."
