I've been down this road several times now. First with Lock/Line and now with Asurion. I have a 33% success rate on receiving a 100% working refurb.
Here's what I've gone through:
A bad G1000 - DOA
A Palm 600 - Not DOA but not Windows Mobile to replace my G1000
A new 6600 to replace my G1000 - Success
A refurb 6700 to replace my 6600 - Success
A bad 6700 - Touch Stick Bad
A good 6700 - Success

Purchased a new 6800 which worked great for awhile and here's where it gets interesting
Bad 6800 - Wireless wouldn't work
Bad 6800 - Bad Wireless and Talk buttons
Bad 6800 - Bad Scroll Wheel - Didn't bother replacing because I finally got one that the wireless works. I've been dealing with this problem for 5 months now because I have no faith in TEP. It is a neuscence any time that I want to scroll a page or turn up or down the phone volume. It often time goes 2 down for every 1 up or vice-versa.
So now I ponder, if I try to get another refurb 6800, what will be wrong with it?
