If the sprint rep does what he or she is suppose to, they will make a test call to your phone to verify before adding the insurance. You were not cleared on the status of your phone as if it was still in working condition. If you get the replacment plan...there is no need to lie just tell them that you drop your phone in the water. Asurion will just ask you to return your damaged phone.
