Re: New Skyfire 0.9B is out!

Two things people don't understand:

Yes, it "works fine" but still looks like crap. It doesn't support VGA. It's pixel-doubling. When the people in this thread complain it's not VGA, they don't mean like the first version we installed on the Touch Pro that didn't fill the screen. They're referring to the fact that it's pixel-doubling and therefore looks fuzzy, unlike a native app. It does the job, and it's the best we've got for Flash support, but it still doesn't look as good as anything native.

As for why it's not in native VGA, you people need to realize this thing is STREAMING what's essentially an interactive video of the web page to our screens. When you're browsing, they're rendering the page, then sending it as multiple frames per second to our phone. It's amazing what they pulled off with it, although it's slightly choppy. But that's at QVGA. 320x240. VGA is FOUR times that amount of information. If it was choppy before, and took a lot of bandwidth, imagine it requiring four times that to drive our phones at full VGA. This may be either a permanent limitation, or a trade-off for even choppier performance.
