I had the 6 button and weather panel as well, I also froz on the WM screen, several soft-resets later, safe-mode kicked in (from SBP Plus I think) and I was able to tinker, but it would never come up normally.
I did a hard reset, and, oddly enough, weather panel stopped updating. I could do all other data related tasks, including looking up locations from within weatherpanel, but it wouldn't actually pull a forecast.
I hadn't messed with Live at all when that happened.
