Because you can browse the net and use email unlimited.

Under those two circumstances, you could NEVER hit that cap. Its when you start using it for other things, like downloading, P2P, tethering, etc. that it changes. Verizon is protecting itself, by limiting those activities in another manner--by introducing a cap.

Its kind of like an all you can eat buffet. Sure, its unlimited, but they are gonna stop ya when you start bringing in boxes, wheelbarrows, barrels, and moving trucks to take some home with ya.
