The way it works is....

You connect with your TouchPro RDP client to the external ip of your router (http://whatsmyip.org/)

But that's not going to work because you router isn't going to allow the incoming traffic. So you have to configure your router to allow incoming connections on a specific port (i.e. port 3389)

So now you can get in but it's still not going to work because you still can't reach your computer... only your router. So you have to configure your router to forward the port (ie. port 3389) to your computer. To do that you will need to know your computers IP address on your internal network.

Just open a command prompt on your XP computer and type ipconfig to get your ip.

Now you can get to your computer with your RDP client.

Of course the first time the power goes out you won't be able to get in because your external ip address will be changed by your ISP.

So.... you'll need a Dynamic DNS service and ddns update client. Both available for free through http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/
Or pay your ISP for a static IP.

Now you're all set. It's not as hard is it sounds.

Lastly, you may have to fix the internal IP of your computer if you have several devices on your network.

Okay, maybe it is as hard as it sounds.
Thanks you sooo much....it was the stupidest thing i didnt have a password set on my computer lol so it wouldnt let me in.. but nonetheless i followed your instructions and it works great!!!!
