Basically, long story short, Sprint strung us out for months and months promising an EVDO upgrade for the 6600. I even got ahold of a test rom that was supposed to enable EVDO, but it did not work. We were able to hack into the network early, but it was not easy. Anyway, it is one of those "inside" jokes about how HTC/Sprint/Audiovox/UTStarcom was always "addressing the issue" and that "an update/fix will be available shortly".
