Sounds like the ISF FIX cab was not part of the rom. Use a registry editor to see if the registry entry below is set to "Sprint PCS". If not then the rom does'nt include the ISF FIX.
HKLM/Comm/InternetSharing/Settings --> ForceCellConnection [String value = "Phone as Modem"] -> "Sprint PCS"
