There really isn't a patch or tweak... Unfortunately it really was as easy as drag and drop. Customizing the functionality of the buttons is where things get tough.
Sometime tomorrow I'll make my own theme available for download. I've gotten several PM's about it, so I'll do my best to zip it and post screenshots.
