yeah, google licensed exchange protocol to sync calendar and contacts starting the 9th of Feb.
It will only sync calendar and contacts, NOT email. But it does it through exchange, supporting push and email can still be done via IMAP or POP3.
It is an EXCELLENT option for windows mobile phone users who use Google calendar and Gmail, and don't have an exchange server from work/school/other large organization.
