My guess is that some of the new files are getting synced- so it might take a while the first time. I've had situations where the first sync took as much as 30 minutes. (Not recently.)
I know that I sometimes just disconnect my device (sometimes I'll soft reset) and then reconnect after a few seconds. But I see you're using Vista... might not be the same as I'm using XP.
