Patients in the only ting i can tell you if you are doing it manually. It takes me about five times each time I try to hard reset. You device is differnt than mine if I remember correctly so I am not sure your magic combo. OUts is cener of D-Pad and then the reset whole for about 10 seconds. ITs a pain no doubt.

Clear storage will work for you as well. You may need to reprogram your phone if you do that though. Not sure the number on sprint but for VZW its *228.
