Nitrogen has all the basic features of your standard MP3 player with "Shuffle" and "Repeat" modes as well as a "sleep" mode that will blank the screen to save on battery power. It relies on touch navigation (ergo, it only works on touchscreen devices) and has oversized control buttons that are designed to make navigation easier. It doesn't have an equalizer but the price (FREE) makes it worth a look.
