I know this thread is getting long but thought I'd chime in, I've been with alltel for 6 years, and when the razr first came out I found out how to tether with it, they told me it would be $25 a month but I called and turned on the $10 a month unlimited data (which is supposed to be for axxess internet on the phone) but I used the razr as a modem for a year or more, when I got my mogul I just swithed ESN and kept my non-smartchoice plan with the $10 data plan and now I tether and wifirouter with it.
I push as much as 6gigs a month and never a dime more than $10.... but according to an alltel rep, "I'll pretend I didn't hear any of that story".
