I dont think it has to do with it not being able to search. something is either wrong with the application or the one cooked in is not functioning properly. the newer youtube app does search well. thanks for the heads up though because mine doesnt work either.
Fixed the problem with Youtube... open the you tube site with Opera, then Youtube started working fine
