Seidio has relseased a 1650 mAh Extended Battery -Stock Size

The new battery gives you an additional 150mAh which is ~10% increase over the stock battery. For those needing a 2nd battery, this is a good option.

I got spoiled with the 2400mAh Treo 650/700 extended battery from Seidio. It was a huge improvement in mAh (33%) and fit in the stock Treo without a special battery cover. HTC did such a good job at making this device compact that it doesn't have the room my Treo did.

That battery lasted me for about a year before I sold the phone and it was still running strong. From experience, I can say they do a great job on their batteries. However, I think I will hold off for now as $50 is a hard pill to swallow for a 10% battery increase. If I were buying a 2nd battery, then I would definitely jump on this now over an OEM battery. Seidio is one of the few battery producers you can trust.

If you want to save some money and turn your phone into an ultra-cool melted pile of plastic then get a cheapo extended battery off e-bay (when they start selling)
