Which ROM are you using, it seems that it does make a difference. The OP in the XDA thread stated that using a particular ROM only recorded using the mic (results in the other party sounding really low), while using a different ROM resulted in it recording the right way.

By the way, for anyone who may be using it, I'm using Juicy's 4.7 ROM and there is no sign of the "start recording" option after installing the cab. I did install the S2A cab first

EDIT: Guess i needed to soft reset first. The start recording option shows now.
