It seems their are a few users that are having trouble syncing their
HTC Touch Pro's with Ubuntu Linux. The following is quick guide of what worked for me.
Phone:
OEM Sprint HTC Touch Pro
ROM version: 1.03.651.3
ROM Date: 09/12/08
Hard Reset out of the box
Applied GoodThings2Life Touch Pro Cleanup (Sprint Edition) http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=44583
Operating System:
Ubuntu Linux Hardy Heron 8.04
Fully Updated Jan 25th
On Ubuntu, go to System>Administrator>Synaptic Package Manager
1. Install the following programs
multisync-tools
multisync0.90
opensync-module-python
opensync-plugin-evolution
opensync-plugin-google-calendar
opensync-plugin-synce
python-opensync
synce-gnomevfs
synce-gvfs
synce-hal
synce-multisync-plugin
synce-sync-engine
synce-trayicon
2. Reboot
Viola! The SynCE Tray Icon should appear.
Right Click this Icon to explore files, install cabs, and drag and drop from Nautilus File Manager... etc...
P.S.
Some users are having to open a terminal and type "sudo modprobe ipaq" in order to get this to work.
