are you getting any specific error? What about your com ports? In my AS settings on my PC I have the following checked:
Show status in taskbar
Allow USB connections
Open AS when my device connects
The computer is connected to: Automatic

In my phone and AS settings in 'connections' are only one and it is checked. It is sync all PCs using this connection: USB.

So check your connections and see what you have.
