That's why I was curious to know if someone with 6700 recently got TP, that would mean that Sprint warehouse is out of 6700s and then Tech Support / Store will be forced to send me anything but 6700

I did a thread search and there are people who have successfully swapped out a 6700 for a TP. You just got a broken replacement, they should replace it for you for free since you're within the initial 30-day window with that device. Call customer support and see if they'll do anything for you.
