Re: yahoo mail probs on verizon
ok heres the deal...and a fix, but i dont know if youll feel its worth it... this happened to me a few weeks ago and this was Sprint explanation...
Yahoo Mail for mobile is free, yes...however Yahoo now has a thing they want u to pay like 10 a month for... This is Yahoo, bloccking phones one at a time, to try to force end users to upgrade to a paid yahoo account..
now here the fix sprint offered..
set-up a 2nd gmail account, with the IDENTICAL s/n and password as the yahoo u want to use...if all setting arent completely identical it wont work...
in the imap(sending settings) set it to the gmails outgoing settings, this will piggyback that extra gmail account to send out messages for you..
i personaly think this a junk way, why not just make another gmail and use that too...or just set yahoo, to forward all messages to gmail, and read and respond that way, but itll use ur gmail add, not yahoos when u reply...
now i happen to have a mogul that doesnt do the port thing, its still the old email setup process..
my yahoo, works agin fine. though... my settings are smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com for outgoing and both boxes r checked underneath..it works without fail..and YES i know this says smtp and yahoo is an imap server..it works though
my incoming setting are still imap.mail.yahoo.com...
just dont forget the smtp and mobile in your outgoing and see what happens..
hope it works or i helped
