XV6900 Software Upgrade Instructions



Welcome to the XV6900 Software Upgrade Utility. This program will take you through the installation of the software update.
Upgrade Process Compatible OS: Windows 2000, Windows XP 32-bits, Windows XP 64-bits, Windows Vista 32-bits and Windows Vista 64-bits
Some of the primary enhancements with this upgrade are:
  • Upgraded OS to Windows Mobile 6.1
  • Added EVDO Rev A capability
  • Updated the MMS client to be compatible with WM 6.1
  • Added Microsoft Remote Desktop Application
  • Added capability to use VzNavigator application.
  • Added capability to read micro SD card of up to 16GB memory.
Before you continue, please ensure that the following items have been completed:




**Please sync the data on your device to your PC prior to initiating this upgrade.

  1. This upgrade requires that ActiveSync 4.5 (applies only to PCs using Windows 2000 and XP OS) be installed on your computer. This may be a different version than the one with which the XV6900 was shipped. The most current version of ActiveSync is available as a free download from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync45.mspx
Note: For PCs using Windows Vista OS please used the Windows Device Manager please connect the XV6900 using Windows Mobile Device Center. You can download the latest version at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center.mspx
  1. Close all other applications on your device and PC.
  1. Download the Maintenance Release version: RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.78_Ship.ex e to your computer. Do not attempt to run it from its current location.
  1. Ensure that your device is charged at least 40%. You can check this by selecting Start>Settings>Power.
  1. Connect your device to your PC via the USB cable and ActiveSync.
  1. Double click on the RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.78_Ship.ex e
  1. Follow the instruction prompts on the screen.
















  1. After upgrade completes the device will power-cycle.
**WARNING: Do not disrupt your device during the upgrade. Doing so may damage your device.
