I did a bit of dabbling with this when I had my fuze... you can download the raphael kitchen and it will disassemble a cooked ROM and split it up into the appropriate folders like OEM SYS etc... I'm not totally sure if it works with the CDMA roms but I don't see why it wouldn't... check out this thread:

sooo I found the _manila files that fixed the weather labels... I actually modified the OEM to include my theme too so I don't have to overwrite it after a cook, very cool... and WOW... slap a 32mb pp on this ROM and it's SMOKING HOLY SH$T.

I didn't notice that abt psshutxp! I usually install that and didn't realize gc rebound it to the power button.. I did see power off doesn't work on my device either.... just goes to show you how often I actually power it off though, I probably wouldn't have noticed.... it would, however, be nice to know how to fix that.
