Just so you know youre not crazy. I've had this problem with my mogul in the past as well as my TP... and my mogul was bone stock (no exchange server set up, email NEVER updating on its own, no weather programs). The worst part was if I didnt catch it and soft reset my phone my battery would be almost dead within about 45 minutes...
