yes you should backup your contacts. I would recomend using PIM Backup, or using Dashwire to backup your contacts online. In order to use Dashwire you will have to go to their website and make an account, and then download the program to your phone. I wouldnt reccomend backing up anything from your old rom and using it on your new rom. It would erase most of the things you did to your phone by replacing it with old things.
