Try hard resetting a couple of times. If that doesn't help yopu might try flashing a stock carrier ROM and starting over. It should respond to a hard reset though. That would get you back to where it was when first flashed. Another off the wall thing that it could possibly be is lint around the edge of the screen. Apaches are notorious for collecting lint between the screen frame and the digitizer and it will cause touchscreen misfires. Get a buisness card and run it around all of the edges of the screen. It should go in about 1/8" and clear any gook that has built up. I had this problem with my Apache and thought it was toast, hard reset 5 or 6 times, and saw a post here about it (2 years ago) and that's what saved it. Hope it helps ya.
